I have a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My art is always sculptural and deals with issues of space and escapism. I create 3-D rooms that hang on the wall. They are full of furniture and photos and things. I build tabletop tree houses with special attention spent on the interiors. I like to use a lot of craft store materials in my work. I work in wood, polymer clay, feathers, fabric, paper and beads. I love texture. I make photographs for my books. They are tableau-style photos that are set in rooms. They have a lot of stuff in them and a lot of activity going on. I want my art to tell a story.
